I get to sleep at night. Oh yes! After working in a BPO industry for 8 years, sleeping at night for two straight months is H-E-A-V-E-N.
I get to watch the TV shows that I wanted (except when my son insists on tuning it on to Disney Jr or Baby TV) and the movies that I have missed.
READ. For the first time after X number of years, I have actually sat down and read 3 novels. I can't recall the last time I did that. In case you're wondering, I read the famous Grey Trilogy in less than a week! Not bad because when I was in college I can finish one Sheldon Novel in an hour or two.
Lose weight. Not that I recommend this, but I actually had to buy a few pairs of pants that I can use at the office. And another excuse to buy new sets of clothes.
REST. All I ever did was wake up, eat, watch TV, surf the Net, play with my kids, sleep and sleep and sleep. It was great! My body finally got all the rest that it needed.
No Stress. I don't have to think about the bosses at the office nor do I have to think about my to-do list, at least for now. No deliverables. No Client meetings. No presentations. No business reviews to prepare and discuss. Although I need to check my office mails once in a while, all I need to do next is just delegate the task to someone else.
And I finally got my wish. I get to stare blankly at the white walls at home and do nothing....at least for a few minutes.
Talking about sick, my granny, nanay and nephew were admitted at the hospital and I am task to bring and buy everything they need so I need to go downtown everyday, the result I have an on and off asthma.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that. It's really hard when one of the family member gets sick. I hope they get well soon. :)
DeleteWell I hope you do get well soon! But it's nice that you see the pros beyond your sickness! :) Rest well!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't want to dwell so much on the negatives. :)
DeleteHope you're feeling much better now. :-) Best cure for pneumonia is rest and lots of water...plus antibiotics of course. Read and re-read the 50 Shades trilogy for about 20 times to date! Haha

That is so true. I was asked to have adequate rest aside from the prescribed antibiotics. Now I am on the road to recovery. :)

ReplyDeleteim feeling better but will still be on medication. thanks for dropping by.
DeleteI am glad you have gotten time to rest and catch up on the things you love doing. Hope you are okay now.
ReplyDeleteim on the road back to recovery. yay!
DeleteI enjoyed reading your lists and it's quite ironic though but yes, it's fun to get sick once in a blue moon. Wow, being in the BPO that long is something. Could that be also the reason why you're sick?
ReplyDeletesometimes getting sick can be a blessing in disguise. i can't say but it could be one of the factors why i got sick this long.
DeleteBeing sick is the perfect excuse to do nothing and get people to do as you bid lol! But it does get boring after the novelty of it fades specially when you are used to a busy, hectic schedule. And it's okay to be sick if you have your family with you. It sucks big time when you live alone and you get sick. I should know hehehe
ReplyDeletetell me about it! lol. but you are right. it's more difficult if you're far away from your family. you have no choice but to take care of yourself.
DeletePS : Get well soon :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations in finishing the Grey Trilogy. I read the first one and haven't gotten around to reading the next. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteSo, how did you find Christian Grey? I have been on leave for a week too (had a subconjunctival hemorrhage on my right eye, nothing serious, just creepy hehe), and I had a blast doing nothing...Marie here from Baguio visiting from CommEx 9/25
ReplyDeleteHope you're ok now sis!
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well now.
ReplyDeleteWe all need to take some rest and we deserve those. I hate it when my immune system breaks down. Tsss. Too bad I have a lot of health problems and that's what I'm having a problem right now.
Yay for time off work! I also just got back to work after a three-week leave due to my back problems. Hope all is well with you now, and not stressing about having to go back to work. :)
ReplyDeleteHealth is our wealth a very well-known saying. So have time to rest. Remember that without good health everything will be fall into pieces. Hope you are totally fine now.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the title post "Horayyy I got sick!" I told myself (I've been in that situation many times LOL) hoping you get well soon dear and you really did take advantage of being sick hahaha :)
ReplyDeleteGet well soon Sis! What you've said here is a good sign of positive thinking. Hahaha
ReplyDeletethat's the number one in National Bookstore's list. honestly, i can't grab some time in reading a book nowbut I hope soon. :)
ReplyDeleteThere was a time I wanted to get sick din because I really was overworked :) And although it is hard to be sick, I also cherished it when I did get flu and was able to stay at home, sleep, read and watch TV. The cellphone is the annoying part though because the boss would constantly call me like I am still at work kainis!
