I consider myself lucky that I was introduced to the world of babywearing. Prior to that, my husband and I used to bring one of those bulky strollers that was handed over to use by my sister-in-law. It was so hard to difficult to take with us even for a short trip to the pediatrician so we bought an umbrella type stroller. Sadly, these strollers sometimes end up as our shopping card because my son would rather be carried in my arms. And who could forget my husband struggling to juggle the baby bag, the shopping bags and the big bulky strollers.
Baby wearing at the airport |
I've seen moms wearing their babies using a baby carrier. Bach then, we were not sure what to get or what will work for us. I attributed the start of my babywearing journey to Dainty Mom. If I hadn't won the Next 9 Jellybean Ring Sling, I'd still be clueless. You can read about my experience with the Ring Sling here.
October is babywearing awareness month. Discover the joys about babywearing, the different types of baby carriers and the right way to wear your baby. The Filipino Association of Babywearers will have another Babywearing Meet this Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Renaissance 3000 in Ortigas. The Meeting will start at 1:30 pm. I don't think I'd be comfortable and confident wearing my baby if not for the Babywearing Meets that I have attended in the past. (If I'm not mistaken, I attended 3 sessions).

DeleteNice to know about this baby wearing group. Too bad we don't have this before. :)
ReplyDeletethey kind of conceptualized the organization this year. it just started with a group of moms who got together and share their carriers.
Deleteis it not that hard to carry a baby using sling?
ReplyDeleteon the contrary, i find it very easy and convenient. you should try it :)
Deletei saw this on you tube, very portable and feels like you're more closer to baby
ReplyDeletethat's true. sabi nga nila, the baby should be close enough to kiss. :)
DeleteI too am into baby wearing and have been doing so since #1. However now with #3 I invested in the ERGO and it's the best carrier that I have had so far.
ReplyDeletei've heard great reviews with ERGO. too bad this is our last baby. otherwise, i would have invested in that carrier too.
DeleteI've seen this a lot, but I wasn't able to try it when my kids were young, we used to always bring stroller whenever we go out.
ReplyDeletewe used a stroller with baby number 1. and it was difficult. everything is so easy with the baby carrier.
DeleteWow, seven years ago, when I was a nursing mom, I was in search of this!!!Good to know this is available na!
ReplyDeleteI was one of the lucky few who got to use this. It's very efficient ano?
ReplyDeleteGreat innovation... none like this 16 years ago!!!
ReplyDeletePeople have really come up with great inventions to suit our every need minus the bulk of carrying a regular stroller. My SIL used to have this when she had her first son. They come in different sizes too and the baby is also safe in it :)
ReplyDeletei wish i could wear my babe as well, but he's alrady 7kgs for 4months and my surgical scar at the back cant bear him, so i had to stick wth strollers
ReplyDeleteI have a carrier too and my baby likes it, but for more than 10 minutes she starts to fuss.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel like carrying a baby. :D But, I don't know yet it if that's MY baby. :)
ReplyDeleteMommies I know loves to wear their baby around. I wish that when my daughters was still young eh na-experience ko rin ito. I'm so payatot kasi that I get so tired easily :( So stroller talaga for me :( Visiting from CommEx 10/16.
ReplyDeleteused to wear my baby also
ReplyDeleteYup, that baby ring sling is so perfect for travelling too. Got to have that soon since my wife's giving birth to our second baby early next year with God's blessings. :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely so much better than strollers as they are not as bulky or cumbersome
ReplyDeleteI remember my lola using big blankets to carry the apos this way too!
ReplyDeleteI would love to wear my baby as well.. but my bones are going to break he's a heavy-weight at 2 years old. hehe!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very great idea for those with babies to carry around. At least, you still have your hands free for other things like carrying bags...
ReplyDeleteyou're the one who won this pala! galing! congrats!!! i wanna have this din too! :D
ReplyDeletewhat a cute accessory. and i meant the baby. :D hehe
ReplyDeleteMy baby and I love baby wearing to the max! Mine is Saya Baby Carrier. And I consider it as one of my pinaka sulit baby buy's.
