Music Adventure with Maddie and Matt

From the makers of EnviroPop comes the fourth edition of the Maddie and Matt series of educational application -- Maddie and Matt's Music Mania.   The latest installation was set to offer loads of entertainment and kid friendly lessons that would unleash your creative side.

Maddie and Matt's Music Mania is a free iOS application that intends to provide basic information about musical instruments - their names, parts, functions and even a brief history is featured in the application.  It also has the following features:

  • A Board of Musical Instruments - consists of 8 free and 13 paid musical instruments ranging from wind, percussion, brass, string, up to electronic.
  • History - shows the instrument's brief background including its origin, type, genre and specific functions
  • Parts - breaks down the various components that makes a certain instrument work.
  • Popular Artists - names the notable personalities all over the globe who became known for playing a particular musical instrument.
  • "Try this instrument" - giving the user a chance to play the instrument in a digital manner
  • Quiz - displays a number of questions that will test the user's knowledge and comprehension skills
  • Social - allows you to share the instruments you learn in Facebook.

Maddie and Matt's Music Mania is both educational and entertaining.  Exactly what I am looking for in an application.  I love that it teaches kids about music and I love that the application gets kids to be interested in learning and playing the instruments for real.  As for me, it kind of made me think about rekindling my relationship with my old guitar.

Visit the iTunes App Store to download Maddie and Matt's Music Mania for free.  Or you can visit their website for more information.

  1. Glad to have read this. I'm a firm believer of benefits of music to kids. That's why my baby also took music classes at Kindermusik at only 5 months of age.
