I wrote about the Toddler’s nook at the IloiloCity Airport when we travelled to Bacolod via Iloilo last April. I was pretty impressed that they had an area
specifically for kids and nursing moms because most often if the flight gets
delayed, then some kids get cranky. We
spent our New Year in Bacolod and guess what I found at the Bacolod-Silay
Airport? They too have a Toddler’s play area and a Nursing station.

My son didn't mind that we were early for our flight. |

The blinds can be closed if moms want to nurse their kids privately. |
|
There's even a changing table outside the nursing area. |

Big comfy couch for the nursing moms. |
Kudos to the government for putting up Toddler's nook and Breastfeeding stations. It's already hard to travel if you bring a lot of baggage with you, much more if you are traveling with kids. And all nursing moms like me really really appreciate a private area where we could feed our babies, in my case, my toddler.
I wonder if we have one of this in every domestic airport in the country? Do you know?
I love malls that have nursing stations. It makes breastfeeding so convenient! I hope pati lahat ng airports lagyan na.
ReplyDeletesame here. kaya suki ako ng SM malls eh. :)
DeleteMany establishments are now catering to the needs of breastfeeding moms and they certainly make going out convenient whenever the need arises to change a nappy for instance :)
ReplyDeletethat is so true. but i've only seen one nappy changing area that is very ideal for moms who use cloth nappies; i love rockwell's nappy changing room.
DeleteGaling naman! Sana lahat may ganyan noh
ReplyDeleteoo nga. i think they also have this in kalibo. im not sure with other airports. i've been to cebu several times but i dont think i noticed.
DeleteKudos to them for offering such space for kids and moms. I just wish all establishments will follow this kind of set-up.
ReplyDeletei agree ron. it will be very convenient for mommies.
DeleteThat's good. Very comfy for nursing Moms. I hope every public place will have that facility.
ReplyDeletetrue. but then again, reality is not everyone has this. kailangan talaga mag practice mag nurse in public or use a nursing cover to be discreet.
DeleteReally wonderful that the facility is available, but also even better that it looks clean and well maintained. I hope it remains that way
ReplyDeletei hope so too. ill check it the next time i visit bacolod.
DeleteThe place looks comfortable and the kids should enjoy its vibrant colors. :-)
ReplyDeleteit is. my kids had fun playing.
DeleteThat's cool, really! :) But on top of that, it's still better to have on-time flights LOL
ReplyDeleteLol! bottomline talaga. on-time ang flights para no cranky toddlers.
Deletewhen i had my first child (16 years ago), there were no breastfeeding stations. Formulas were such a big thing then, claiming they will increase IQ, etc. Some people actually told me mas malaki and smarter daw ang formula-fed. I am thankful we have those now, and I am thankful I haven't listened to these people who told me that formulas are better
ReplyDeleteKudos to you sis! back when i had my daughter, i didnt get the support i have now with breastfeeding so i ended up nursing her for less than a month. im so glad that there are LATCH Peer Counselors and breastfeeding clubs in the metro.
DeleteIn our airport, I think I saw a changing table. Not so sure about the playroom.
ReplyDeletereally? that's good enough. its so hard to change a toddler's poopy nappy when there's none at the CR
DeleteGreat that some establishments are catering to the needs of moms, specially breastfeeding station. Too bad some establishments don't have some facilities for dads most specially when it's time for changing the babies diaper.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah that too i have to agree. my husband usually takes the kids out and sometimes have a hard time looking for a place where he could change our son's nappy. they should work on that too.
DeleteBusinesses and public facilities are becoming more aware of the need for nursing and toddler's area. It saves both the families and the (viewing) public the awkward moments of seeing mothers nurse and toddlers' tantrums.
ReplyDeletetrue. but if there is none available, sometimes you have to do what you need to do.
DeleteThis is wonderful! The needs of moms and kids are truly important and must be paid attention to. I hope parking areas could add families with many small children to the parking space near the entrance of the building or malls.
ReplyDeletethat's a great idea too cym.
DeleteGood thing that there are such place considering nursing mommies especially nowadays that breasfeeding are preferred by many.
ReplyDeletegreat to hear this child friendly airports
ReplyDeleteWe have nursing rooms in all terminals at our airport here in Singapore and most female toilets also have a changing station for babies.
ReplyDeletevery comfy.. hindi pa ako na kakapasok sa mga bvreasfeeding station.. my son is 8 yrs old na kasi..
ReplyDeleteMore and more airport is having toddler/breastfeeding stations. I have yet to experience it but I have seen lots of photos and these will surely help parents a lot.
ReplyDeleteMommy Maye
i think that's one reason kaya we are one of the best countries for women. Nakikita talaga yung needs ng mga babae. And, i think dadami pa ang ganitong projects
ReplyDeleteI never really noticed this in other airports....
ReplyDeleteWow how nice naman. I'll check this out next time we visit my aunt in BAcolod.
ReplyDeleteIt's very impressive. We should have these in all our airports.
ReplyDeletebuti may ganito na facilities sa airport, very helpful sa travelling kids and moms
ReplyDeletethey should implement this to all airport here in the Philippines too. this is wonderful idea..
ReplyDeleteIt's great that they are considering things like this for the passengers. It think that's good customer service, making things easier for people. Still, it would be great if there are less delays in flight schedules. I keep hearing the same thing on domestic flights.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know Bacolod-Silay Airport has this! My province never fails to surprise me every time I go on vacation, there are so many developments. I'm so excited to see more changes!
