Toddler's Nook and Breastfeeding Station at the Bacolod-Silay Airport

I wrote about the Toddler’s nook at the IloiloCity Airport when we travelled to Bacolod via Iloilo last April.  I was pretty impressed that they had an area specifically for kids and nursing moms because most often if the flight gets delayed, then some kids get cranky.  We spent our New Year in Bacolod and guess what I found at the Bacolod-Silay Airport? They too have a Toddler’s play area and a Nursing station.

My son didn't mind that we were early for our flight.
The blinds can be closed if moms want to nurse their kids privately.
There's even a changing table outside the nursing area.
Big comfy couch for the nursing moms.

Kudos to the government for putting up Toddler's nook and Breastfeeding stations.  It's already hard to travel if you bring a lot of baggage with you, much more if you are traveling with kids.  And all nursing moms like me really really appreciate a private area where we could feed our babies, in my case, my toddler.

I wonder if we have one of this in every domestic airport in the country? Do you know?

  2. Many establishments are now catering to the needs of breastfeeding moms and they certainly make going out convenient whenever the need arises to change a nappy for instance :)

    1. that is so true. but i've only seen one nappy changing area that is very ideal for moms who use cloth nappies; i love rockwell's nappy changing room.

    1. true. but then again, reality is not everyone has this. kailangan talaga mag practice mag nurse in public or use a nursing cover to be discreet.

  9. when i had my first child (16 years ago), there were no breastfeeding stations. Formulas were such a big thing then, claiming they will increase IQ, etc. Some people actually told me mas malaki and smarter daw ang formula-fed. I am thankful we have those now, and I am thankful I haven't listened to these people who told me that formulas are better

  11. Great that some establishments are catering to the needs of moms, specially breastfeeding station. Too bad some establishments don't have some facilities for dads most specially when it's time for changing the babies diaper.

    1. oh yeah that too i have to agree. my husband usually takes the kids out and sometimes have a hard time looking for a place where he could change our son's nappy. they should work on that too.

  12. Businesses and public facilities are becoming more aware of the need for nursing and toddler's area. It saves both the families and the (viewing) public the awkward moments of seeing mothers nurse and toddlers' tantrums.

    1. true. but if there is none available, sometimes you have to do what you need to do.

  13. This is wonderful! The needs of moms and kids are truly important and must be paid attention to. I hope parking areas could add families with many small children to the parking space near the entrance of the building or malls.

  25. It's great that they are considering things like this for the passengers. It think that's good customer service, making things easier for people. Still, it would be great if there are less delays in flight schedules. I keep hearing the same thing on domestic flights.
